Mentoring

All students have access to a one-to-one mentor. The mentor role is different to that in years 7-11. They are available for one-to-one discussions about your learning needs. They will help you target set for progress, listen to issues you may have about your learning as well as being a point of contact for home.

The mentor team includes a number of senior teachers from within the college. In mentor time there are opportunities to participate in discussion and presentations linked to your personal development, e.g. health issues, the local PCSO, gap year volunteering organisations, safe-driving etc. You will also have time to prepare for applying to university and access to advice on possible careers.
There are also opportunities to show leadership qualities as part of the Sixth Form and college council, supporting main school students through peer-mentoring, sports coaching and charity events.
