Garden Centre Outing

On Friday 6 July the Year 9 Circle Project girls, Savannah Kenward, Katie Smith and Sophie McIntyre went on a trip to Lewes Garden Centre in Kingston.  The students were given a questionnaire each to go around the garden centre finding the answers.  They discovered that some plants eat meat, some plants shrink when touched, some plants have green flowers, that that you can even buy hotels for insects, frogs, hedgehogs and bees.  The students listened to CDs of Bird Songs, Whale Music, Storms, Drums and Sounds of the Rainforest. They listened to the different sounds of the wind chimes and “dinged” the Captains' Bell.

The students learned about how Photosynthesis worked surrounded by the beautiful smell of Roses, the relaxing scent of lavender and the fresh smell of herbs.

Mrs Seymour, Teaching Assistant for the Circle Project said: 'We all had a brilliant time, it was a wonderful day and the students really got alot out of the visit'.
