Student Involvement

Students are encouraged to take a very active role in College life and are involved in many aspects of the decision making process for example providing feedback at staff interviews, working with Staff, Parents and Governors on uniform design and working with the architects to promote Eco Friendly building design in any new buildings.

Students fund raise for two main charities a year The Christian Children’s Fund through which the school is able to fund 2 young people through school in Peru and an additional charity chosen by the Senior Students.

There are opportunities for all year groups to use their artistic talents to contribute to the community, through music, art, drama and dance both through concerts and assemblies.

RY0Q7420We have a very active Student Council, run by students for students, this meets every two weeks. All students have the opportunity to put forward suggestions to the Council through their mentor representatives. Older students can apply to become Senior Students at the end of year 10.  There is stiff competition for these important posts.  The Senior Student body is led by the Head Boy and Head Girl of school and they meet once a fortnight with the Vice Principal who is responsible for Student Welfare.  The group works to coordinate many activities within the College, for example the Heads Boy and Girl of year 7 are specifically focused on working with staff to ensure that Students are effectively supported on their transition from year 6 to 7, and our Head of Business works with a House Leader on entrepreneurial challenges for all year groups.  The Senior Students are also the ambassadors for the College.
