Sixth Form Open Evening
The Sixth Form Open Evening will take place on 15th October 2015 from 6pm - 8pm. The sixth form team will make a brief presentation and then you will able to discuss the various subejct options with our excellent teaching staff. Ringmer Academy celebrates highest ever A-Level results
Students at Ringmer Community College Sixth Form are today celebrating attaining the highest A Level scores since the Sixth Form opened in 2008. 10% of entries resulted in an A* being awarded, with 14% achieving A*-A, 42% A*-B and 66% A*-C.
Individual students who performed exceptionally well were:
Alice Glaysher (pictured above with college Principal Kathy Stonier) achieved A* in Maths, A* in Biology and A in Chemistry and is going on to study medicine at Plymouth University.
Ellie-Mae O’Neil achieved A* in Fine Art and A* in Textiles and is going on to study an Art Foundation Course.
Jack Unsworth achieved an A* in Business.
Lydia McKay achieved an A* Fine Art.
Jasmine Liddawi achieved an A* in Arabic.
Sol Tarling A in English Literature.
Laura Pratt A in Fine Art.
Subject areas which performed particularly well were Business Studies, Fine Art, Art and Design Graphics, Textiles, Photography, Biology, Chemistry, History and English Literature. Students studying the ICT BTEC course also performed particularly well with a number of Distinctions and one Distinction* grade.
Mr Burchett, Head of Sixth Form, said, “I am particularly pleased with the number of students achieving the high end grades, this reflects the hard work and effort put in by both staff and students. I wish all our leavers the very best for the future. Places are still available for courses starting this September. We will be embarking on a partnership with Roedean School and look forward to even greater success in terms of results and the unique opportunities that will come about for all the students in the Sixth Form.”
Ms Stonier, Principal stated, “I am delighted with this set of results. It shows that our staff and students can attain at the highest level and go on to very good University places.”
